This is a step-by-step guide of how my process of work is done, and give you an inside look on what your experience will be if we worked together.

CREATIVE BRIEF

First thing we do after the first contact is schedule right away for a creative brief breakdown. This is where we get to know each other a little better and can kickstart the project. I will come to you with a list of simple yet effective questions that helps me have a better understanding of your brand, your backstory and the purpose of why you want this project. Not only is for understanding the scope of the project, but it is also a time where we can set a contract about the time scale, budget, and overall finalized deliverables.

BRAINSTORM IDEAS

The research phase and brainstorming phase almost work together as one, as I do the research, I write or sketch ideas as I go, ensuring I keep note of the whole process. The reason I do this is when we circle back for our meetings, I like to keep full transparency with the clients if they want to circle back on any ideas or details about the project as a whole. This is also useful for me and my process of creating a successful design, no shortcuts are being taken.

NO SHORTCUTS TAKEN

DESIGN RESEARCH

Depending on the scale of the project, we can plan to meet online or in-person (depending on location of client) whether this can be weekly, bi-weekly, or set up meetings for stages of the project when completed along the journey. These are crucial meeting points to ensure we are on the same page for the design and keep on track of the timeline. I will take notes during our meeting and make the necessary changes needed for the project.

Communication is key

After agreeing on what the scope of the project is going to be, the first thing we must do is research. This is an important step that I take before I begin designing anything, you can’t design for something you no nothing about. It starts with finding the target audience and getting a better understanding of what they like and don’t like within the industry, this tends to evolve by looking at competitors’ brands, social trends and what has the most engagement, whether physical or digital. I take all this knowledge gained and apply it to the project.

COMPLETION

Once the project is all finished and wrapped up, I will make a final overview document of all the steps taken, summary of our meetings, and a complete zipped folder of all the deliverables needed in the agreed file format.
