I worked with the same client on their website and was also part of the team responsible for the complete rebranding of the company. For the print aspect of the project, my role involved creating conceptual designs and exploring various design directions for the team. This also included researching imagery that could be utilized across all platforms.
My specific responsibilities included designing the brochure and business cards. I was in charge of creating the covers and the first two pages of the brochure booklet while collaborating with another designer to develop the layout template to be used throughout the booklet.
Design Process
As the brand is focused on a greener future, sustainability, and innovation, it was essential to create a modern and consistent layout across the brand’s identity. One of the challenges in this process was effectively using negative space as both a design element and a tool.
While having clean and minimalistic pages is important, it can easily come across as empty if not done well. We believe we have achieved the right balance by incorporating a significant amount of imagery while keeping the content as the primary focus for the reader.
The business cards adhered to this minimalist design principle we established. I found designing the business cards to be the most challenging aspect, as I wanted to avoid making them feel too empty without merely enlarging the content. Instead, I experimented with the logo to fill the space creatively.
The brand's color palette is what truly makes it stand out, and having a strong selection of colors helps resolve many of these design challenges.
